McDonald’s, Coca-Cola champions oflline interactions with BFF meals

McDonald’s Philippines and Coca-Cola has introduced special bundled meals big enough for a gang of friends to bring back meaningful conversations back to the dining table.

The new BFF Bundle is a special menu super-sized for a group of up to four people, inviting Filipinos to have a digital time-out and enjoy bonding with friends, meeting new ones and starting face-to-face conversations.

While technology helped people communicate much easier, the iconic brands said that more connections are now happening in the digital world than in the real one.

“Today, together as well, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola are taking a stand that real-life connections fuel our digital lives and enrich our relationships”, added Coca-Cola Philippines president and general manager, Guillermo Aponte.

The brands have kicked-off an integrated campaign called #BetterTogether to promote BFF Bundle on social media, in-store, and traditional channels. Last week, Leo Burnett unveiled a video on the McDonald’s PH Facebook fan page and was later on national TV.

The ad reminds that social media is more fun and meaningful when done in the real life.

The BFF Bundle was launched with a fairly star-studded guest list last 7 April at the Analog Hours Media Event at SM Andriatico. Attendees tucked away their phones and participated in offline activities that resemble their online counterparts – an analog Facebook, Pinterest and music playlist run by a real band, to name a few .
